These are unpleasant facts to say the least that took place on Wednesday in Grace-Hollogne. In the followingnoon, a 65-year-old man was driving by, accompanied by his wife and 5-year-old granddaughter. The man took a road strewn with chicanes and therefore logically slowed down.
But this reduction in speed was obviously not to the taste of the three occupants who had taken place on two scooters and who were following the car.
According to the motorist, the chicanes prevented the passage of the two scooters which made their drivers more and more furious. A fury that resulted in violence since at one point the two scooters came up to the car, the occupants then violently kicking and punching the body of the vehicle…
The motorist did not stop and, despite everything, continued on his way to his home. But no sooner had the man and his passengers got out of the vehicle than the three moped riders arrived. The man who was alone on his two-wheeler then also got off his machine, walked towards the sixty-year-old and gave him a violent headbutt… with his helmet.
The driver then fell heavily to the ground. In addition to serious facial injuries, the unfortunate suffers from back injuries, which add to a complex medical situation. He is incapacitated for work for two months and there are even fears of paralysis and permanent incapacity.
The alert had fortunately been given and the police arrested the three moped riders. The two people who did not hit the motorist have been released but will have to appear in court for malicious obstruction of traffic.
The attacker was deprived of his liberty and referred Thursday morning to the Liège prosecutor’s office. There, the file was put under investigation with a request for an arrest warrant. It must be said that the fellow, a 29-year-old young man living in Saint-Nicolas, is already known to the judicial authorities for acts of rebellion and driving.
