Several reader reporters report that foreign combat helicopters entered Switzerland on Thursday morning. “On the way from Italy towards Valais,” writes one. “Now they are just over Zermatt VS”, another.
Are the helis protecting one of the WEF powerful? The Swiss security authorities, who actually take on this task, would hardly like that. In any case, they need an exceptional permit to fly in Switzerland.
En route to Great Britain
“They own them,” says the Swiss air traffic control company Skyguide to Blick. It is regarding “British combat helicopters that are traveling with diplomatic approval from the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs”.
But what is their goal? Here the Swiss army knows the answer: “These are four Apache helicopters that are traveling from Slovenia to Great Britain.” They had obtained permission in advance.
So the excitement was short-lived. The helicopters have meanwhile left Swiss airspace once more. (of)
