National News Agency – Choucair discussed with the Ambassador of Malaysia the strengthening of cooperation to develop economic relations

NNA – The head of the economic authorities, former Minister Mohamed Choucair, received Malaysian Ambassador to Malaysia Azri Mat Yakub at the headquarters of the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber, and they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the private sector and develop economic relations between the two countries.

At the outset, Choucair welcomed the Malaysian ambassador and stressed, according to a statement, “the interest of the Lebanese private sector in developing and strengthening cooperation with the Malaysian private sector, to consider the possibility of establishing business partnerships for investment, whether in Lebanon and Malaysia or outside it,” and presented “the tragic economic and social situation that Lebanon is going through.” He stressed the need for all friendly countries to stand by Lebanon and help it overcome its economic crisis.

He stressed that “Lebanon, despite its difficult conditions, still has many important components and competitive advantages, especially its location, its private sector, and many of its promising economic sectors, and this is what we are working to benefit from in cooperation with friendly countries to return the country to the path of recovery and advancement. “.

In turn, the ambassador of Malaysia affirmed, “his country stands by Lebanon, the friendly country that we hope will emerge from its crisis quickly to take its usual leading role in the region and the world,” and stressed that “his country stands by Lebanon, and is ready to contribute the available capabilities to help it overcome its crisis.” He stressed, “working to strengthen cooperation between the private sector and strengthen economic relations between the two countries by all available means and mechanisms.”

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to “prepare for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon and the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, which would strengthen communication and cooperation between businessmen and facilitate their work in the two countries, establish joint projects, see available opportunities and work to invest in them.”
