META Film Festival – A new international film festival will take place in Dubai from October 27-29 at the Vox Cinemas complex in Nakheel Mall on Palm Jumeirah that organizers say will gradually transform the region’s growing film and entertainment industry while cementing Dubai’s position as a global entertainment hub.
Festival organizers Great Mind Events Management LLC and festival partners have announced an action packed three-day global festival that will feature international films, premieres, regional feature films, and red carpets with stars and talents from the Arab world, Hollywood, and Bollywood. Nollywood, celebrity receptions and interviews, movie box launches, awards, following parties, content markets and much more.
Filmmakers from the UAE, the Middle East and around the world can submit their content for inclusion in the screening schedule and awards programme. The META Film Festival will play a prominent role in the global film industry as a vital platform through which diverse content is presented to a more diversified consumer market, a point that gives preference to the festival that is being held in Dubai.
With this, Dubai will witness the return of international film and entertainment festivals that will also promote the development of local and regional contents. This is the first film festival to be held in the UAE in five years and reflects the resurgence of entertainment activities in one of the world’s fastest growing economies.

Meta Film Market includes the following awards: Best English Film, Best Arab Film, Best Southeast Asian Film, Best African Film, Best Animated Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Asian Film, Best Short Film Writer’s Room Fund, Fiction Film Fund, and Documentary Fund.
