Jeddah: Brigadier General Sami bin Mohammed al-Shuwairaq, a spokesman for Public Security, has said that foreigners residing in the country will be required to obtain a permit to enter Makkah from Thursday, May 26. This is part of the implementation of the Hajj organization directives.
Residents of countries without a permit from the relevant departments will be barred from entering Makkah. Unauthorized persons and their vehicles will be sent back near the check posts on the roads leading to Makkah.
A spokesman for the public security said that those with entry permits for work in places of worship issued by the relevant department, iqama issued from Makkah, Umrah permit and Hajj permit would be exempted from the decision and would be allowed to enter Makkah.
