Santiago Buitrago got his revenge on Lavaronethe Bogota cyclist turned the tears of impotence last Sunday into tears of joy and euphoria this Tuesday, following crowning the escape and staying with the victory in stage 17 of the Italy tour.
Buitrago integrated the escape from the beginning of the day, in a demanding stage made up of three first category mountain passes.
The cyclist from Bahrain Victorius sand went to the floor with 80 kilometers to goletting go of the escape group and recovering with height, reconnecting with the group moments later.
The Dutch Matheu Van Der Poel y Gijs Leem trip were the great obstacle, with whom they linked at the end of the ascent to the Vetriolo Pass, but who once more took an important distance in this descent.

The fight for the pink jersey kept the fight on edge between the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz and the Australian Jai Hindley, with only 3″ of difference between the two. The Spanish Mikel Landa climbed to third position at 1’05” and Joao Almeida fell to fourth place at 1’54”.
