BERLIN, 25 May / WAM / H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met in Berlin with Annallina Birbock, German Minister of Foreign Affairs, as part of his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the meeting, they discussed the strategic relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing and developing them in various fields.
His Highness and His Excellency Annalina Birbock also discussed the situation in the region and developments on the regional and international arenas, including the crisis in Ukraine, and the importance of strengthening efforts to reach a political solution to it and working to avoid prolonging this conflict.
The two sides touched on a number of files of common interest, including the future of energy and global food security, market conditions, and the importance of working on their stability.
Her Excellency Annalina Birbock welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, offering condolences to His Highness on the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “may God have mercy on him.” Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.
Her Excellency praised the Emirati-German strategic relations and the keenness of the two friendly countries and their leadership to strengthen them and develop frameworks for joint cooperation in all fields.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Her Excellency for her condolences, stressing that the UAE, with the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, is keen to strengthen its strategic relations with the Federal Republic of Germany in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries and their peoples. To consolidate security, stability and peace in the region and the world.
His Highness pointed out that the Emirati-German strategic relations are full of promising opportunities for growth and development in several fields, and that the two friendly countries are partners in working for regional and global peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Hafsa Abdullah Al Olama, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.
