The American company Jabil, which assembles complex contract electronics, is closing its production in Tver and laying off 90 employees in connection with the events in Ukraine. The plant, which assembled car electronics, TVs, routers and cameras, has been operating in the city since 2009.
Jabil factory closes
The third largest company in the world providing contract assembly services for electronics, american Jabil announced the closure of the plant in Tver. The corporation announced the decision on the official website.
The management of the company intends to dismiss 90 Russian employees who were thanked for their hard work and selfless dedication. Jabil specified that she would continue to work with clients so that the liquidation of the plant would not affect their business.
The company did not say directly that the decision to curtail production in Russia was connected with a Russian special operation on Ukrainehowever, they told in detail what material support they provide to employees of their factories in Kharkov and Uzhgorod.

Jabil Circuit Corporation was founded in Michigan in 1966 and is the third largest contract assembly company in the world for complex electronics. In 2022, Jabil has 100 factories in 30 countries with more than 180,000 employees. According to the report for 2020, Jabil’s revenue is divided into two segments: services in the field of electronics manufacturing account for 61% of total revenue, services in the field of diversified manufacturing – 39%. In the first segment company revenue divided by types of customers, among the main industries of partners is the industry and equipment for the production of semiconductors, 5Gwireless connection and cloud computingmaintaining the network and data storage. In the second segment, the lion’s share of orders from the company were taken by organizations from the healthcare, automotive and connected devices industries.
What did the plant in Tver produce
Jabil production in Tver was launched in 2009, the company produced products for major global brands for sale in Russia: electronicsin particular, TVs and displays, telecommunications and network equipment, set-top boxes for receiving signals satellite i digital television, POS terminals and industrial equipment.
