Volvo’s first electric SUV, the Polestar 3 will be officially revealed in October.

Still absent on the French market due to a dispute with Citroën over its logo, Polestar continues to move forward. After the plug-in hybrid with the Polestar 1 sedan and the 100% electric with the Polestar 2a direct competitor of Model 3the brand of the Chinese group Geely is attacking the electric SUV segment with the Polestar 3. A model for which we now know the official presentation date.

According to information disclosed by the brand, the Polestar 3 will be presented during the month of October. It will begin deliveries in early 2023.

The brand’s first model made in the United States, it will be assembled at the Charleston, South Carolina, plant on the same production lines as the Volvo Embla, future electric version of the XC90. Although the technical specifications of the model have not yet been detailed, Polestar has confirmed that the performance will be superior to that of the model proposed by Volvo.

Global ambitions

Hoping to expand its presence to around thirty international markets by 2023, Polestar intends to increase its sales tenfold in the years to come. Objective: to increase from 29,000 units sold in 2021 to 290,000 by 2025.

To do this, the brand will launch a new model per year for the next three years. Beyond the Polestar 3, the manufacturer also plans to launch a compact electric SUV. Named Polestar 4 and expected in 2024, it will tackle the Tesla Model Y.
