The Sillim Line opens on the 28th… Yeouido ~ Seoul National University 16 minutes – Maeil Economic Daily

The Sillim Line, an urban railroad linking Yeouido in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul and Seoul National University in Gwanak-gu, will be opened. When the Sillim Line is opened, it will be possible to travel from Yeouido to Seoul National University in 16 minutes. According to the Metropolitan Area Transportation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 24th, the Sillim Line connecting Saetgang Station (Yeouido) and Gwanaksan Station (Seoul National University) will open on the 28th. It will be opened 5 years and 3 months following the first shovel was opened in March 2017.

The Sillim Line runs from Saetgang Station on Subway Line 9 to Daebang Station on Line 1, Boramae Station on Line 7, and Sillim Station on Line 2, and connects Gwanaksan Station with a total length of 7.76km and consists of 11 stations. The service interval is expected to be 3.5 minutes during commuting hours and 4 to 10 minutes during normal hours. The first train departs at 5:30 a.m. and the last train leaves at midnight. Daegwangwi expects that the Sillim Line will pass through Seoul Subway Lines 1, 2, 7, and 9 from north to south, which will greatly reduce the commuting time of citizens, and transfer to Lines 1, 2, 7, and 9 is possible.
