94 criminal charges lodged in Valais

Last year, the employment inspectors of the State of Valais noted 322 offenses linked to undeclared work; 94 situations were the subject of a criminal denunciation to the Public Ministry, according to The report of the Worker Protection and Labor Relations Service which has just been made public.

Undeclared work: 1.5 billion francs per year in Valais

Of the 322 violations, 136 relate to a violation of social insurance for a total amount of 266,000 francs and 102 to foreigners’ rights.

Note that an application and a site internet have been put in place to allow everyone to report suspicions of undeclared work, a phenomenon which would represent, according to an estimate by the State of Valais, 1.5 billion francs per year.

58 foreign companies banned

In addition to employment inspectors, joint committees carry out company checks. They noted 91 infringements in the construction branches and 24 in other sectors of activity. 12 cases of wage underbidding were also noted.

The Worker Protection Service also indicates that 115 offenses have been observed with companies and self-employed workers posting European workers in the canton. 58 companies from the European Union which have posted employees to Valais have even been banned from coming to work in Switzerland.
