Germany – Switzerland: “We have to improve quality” – Nati is behind after a good start

The Swiss national hockey team got off to a flying start in the last group game once morest arch-rival Germany and took the lead following less than two minutes through Ambühl. Until the tenth minute, they hardly let anything burn and have chances for more goals themselves. But the Germans only need five seconds in the first power play for Kai Wissmann to equalize. After that, the momentum changes completely and Stefan Loibl deflects a Seider shot into an untenable direction in the 16th minute.

The Germans didn’t play that much better, it was much more the Swiss who slacked off following the equaliser. Can they come back from behind like they did once morest France and still bag the group win?

Goalscorer Ambühl said in the break interview with SRF: “We got into the game very well, following that we were a bit too passive, we have to change that once more. We have to play a little more straight forward and improve the quality. It’s a goal and we still have 40 minutes left.”
