Windows 11, the most important thing is quality, quality and quality

Windows 11 deployment is complete. The OS has reached general availability. Clearly the free update is available for all eligible PCs.

This step was eagerly awaited because it indicates one thing. The operating system is optimal. Downloading and installing it is supposed to have no major issues. Now Microsoft is slowly but surely preparing the launch of its very first feature update, 22H2. We should hear more regarding this at the Build developer conference.

In the meantime, Panos Panay, executive vice president and chief product officer at Redmond has discussed of Windows 11 during Computex 2022. He says Microsoft’s main concern is quality. Windows 11 would be the result of this policy and according to Panos Panay the feedback is positive. Users are happy with what they discover when they start using on their Windows 11 devices.

He specifies

It has the highest quality scores. This is the most important thing for our team, quality, quality, quality. People who use it find the quality in this product which is great. This also translates into product satisfaction. It’s the highest product satisfaction of any version of Windows we’ve ever offered.

Windows 11 22H2 is almost finished

The first Windows 11 feature update is nearly complete. The RTM phase should be reached before the end of the month. The “general public” deployment will be done in stages with availability in waves. This approach has been used since the Windows 10 v1809 fiasco. This is a solution to limit the number of victims in the event of failure while continuing the deployment.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update came with a major bug that deleted user data. At the time Microsoft was forced to withdraw its update just days following its launch. After several weeks of waiting, the return of a corrected version was the source of other failures limiting its deployment.
