Muscat: Iranian President Dr. Mohd. Warm welcome to Ibrahim Raisi in Oman. He also met with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq at Al Alam Palace. The two leaders discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in various fields and ways to strengthen friendly relations.
Various co-operation agreements were signed and it was decided to work together in more areas. The Oman News Agency reported that eight MoUs have been signed. Dharani reached out to co-operate in the fields of oil and natural gas, transportation, higher education-research, agriculture-livestock-fisheries, plant protection, diplomatic studies-training, radio-television.
Agreements were signed on trade, investment, services, employment, technology and cooperation in the environment and sports. Foreign Minister Syed Badr bin Hamad Al Busaydi said further cooperation agreements would continue to be signed.

Hussein Amir Abdullain, Minister of Defense Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier General Mohammed Reza Garai, Minister of Industry and Trade Syed Reza Fatemi Amin, Minister of Oil Awad Uji, Minister of Transport and Urban Development Rustam Qasimi, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Ali Salah Bidi Iranian Ambassador Ali Najafi and Deputy Chairman of Parliament Abbas Mugdadi were also present.
A business delegation led by Iran’s Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Commerce visited Oman last week as part of strengthening trade ties between Iran and Oman.
The delegation also held discussions with the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other business leaders in Oman. Rida Juma Salih, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce, said the business-to-business meeting, which was attended by private sector businessmen from both countries, would help broaden relations between the two countries in the areas of joint trade and investment.
The trade relationship between the two countries was $ 306.043 million in 2020. Of this, Oman’s exports were worth $ 175.207 and Iran’s imports were worth $ 130.836. Iran and Oman have a relationship that goes back more than 50 years.
