On June 2, at 7:00 p.m., the Mayor Antonio Carpio Cultural Center will host the third edition of the Educational Conference organized by the City Council Education Delegation, and this time it will deal with Emotional Well-being and Mental Health in the Childhood and Adolescence, “an issue in which all the Boards of Directors of the AMPAS of Montillano schools were interested”, as explained by the Education delegate following meeting with the presidents of these associations.
The days focused on teachers but, above all, on fathers and mothers have a practical approach and seek to resolve, through professionals with extensive experience in the field, the issues that most concern fathers and mothers with respect to their children. Dolores Gil, responsible for Education, explained that last year, for example, one of the conferences dealt with children with High Abilities and that during this meeting with the presidents of the AMPAS, other issues were raised, such as sexuality and the use of social networks. , and that will be addressed in the coming months.
“After the months of the pandemic, the main concern of parents that we have detected is how they can know if their sons and daughters are going through an episode of emotional crisis or depression through some type of signs,” explained Gil.
The presentation will be given by José Fernando Vencesla Martínez, Clinical Psychologist and coordinator of the Mental Health Unit of the Reina Sofía Hospital in Córdoba, who will be open to questions and debate with the attendees.
