Worried regarding dropping out of the program due to health problems
Song Hae (95, photo), the longest running MC of KBS 1TV’s ‘National Singing Contest’, was listed in the Guinness World Records as ‘the oldest music contest host’. Song took over as the MC of the National Singing Contest in 1988 and has been active as a host for 34 years until this year. On the 23rd, he said, “It is thanks to the viewers who have saved the National Singing Contest for a long time.”
According to KBS on this day, Song’s registration in the Guinness World Record was confirmed at the end of April, but the announcement was delayed due to the delay in the work of the British Guinness Association in the followingmath of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Previously, in January of this year, KBS announced, “We are challenging the Guinness World Records to receive recognition for the achievements of the oldest MC Song Hae.”
Due to Corona 19, the National Singing Contest, which has been broadcasting by weaving studio shots and past broadcast screens, will resume outdoor shooting in June, starting in Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do. However, Song has recently been in and out of the hospital due to poor health, and is contemplating whether to leave the National Singing Contest.
