Actress Kim Sae-ron, who crashed into a transformer while driving while drinking, announced that she would take insurance to the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
A KEPCO official told TV Daily on the 23rd, “All agreements with Kim Sae-ron have been completed.”
According to the official, the cost of replacing the transformer is regarding 20 million won. Since it is an accident caused by an individual, the individual must directly compensate for any damage caused by the accident.
However, it is reported that the 20 million won does not include compensation for self-employed people in the area who were damaged by a power outage at the time of the accident.
Earlier, on the 18th, Kim Sae-ron had an accident that hit a guard rail and a street tree several times while driving. In this accident, the transformer broke down and electricity supply was cut off for regarding 3 hours to 57 places including nearby shops.
At the time of the accident, Kim Sae-ron tested positive for a drink detector test, refused to measure blood alcohol level, and returned home following receiving a blood test. The test results will be released on the 1st of next month.
Kim Sae-ron apologized two days following the accident, saying, “I had to act more cautiously and responsibly, but I was not able to do so,” saying, “With my wrong judgment and actions, I have caused damage to so many people, including merchants, citizens, and restoration people.” did.
“The damage caused by the accident is currently being sorted out with the company, and we will do our best to communicate and actively resolve the matter until the end.”
