On June 21, Kiran’s father called Vismaya to the hospital. Trivikraman Nair had said that he came to know regarding the death on the way to the hospital. The witness also identified in court that the conversation between Kiran and Trivikraman Nair was obtained from Kiran’s phone.

Prabhakaran Pillai, Grama Panchayat Secretary, Nilamel, who registered the marriage of Vismaya and Kiran, and Rajesh, Federal Bank Branch Manager, Nilamel. Fatima, N.S. Hospital Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Sreekumar and Kunnathoor tehsildar Nizam, who conducted the inquest, were also called as witnesses in the case.

Kiran’s grandfather’s son Anil Kumar, a security guard, and his wife Bindukumari, a health department employee, had changed their statements in court. With this, the witnesses were declared dissenters. Bindukumari was pronounced dead at the hospital by Special Prosecutor G Mohanraj.

Kiran’s father Sadasivan Pillai had objected that he did not tell anyone regarding the paper he had handed over to the police. Sadasivan Pillai said that Kiran had a quarrel with Vismaya over the lack of gold.

Kiran’s sister Keerthi said that there was no dispute between Kiran and Vismaya regarding the dowry. Following this, Keerthi was also declared to have defected.
