According to the results of a poll conducted by the Gyeongin Ilbo commissioned by Mono Research, an opinion polling agency, the approval rating of Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung was 46.6% and People’s Strength candidate Yoon Hyung-sun was 46.9%, a 0.3 percentage point gap. ‘No candidate to support’ was 4.3%, and ‘don’t know/no answer’ was 2.3%.
This poll was conducted on the 20th and 21st of last year, targeting 500 men and women over the age of 18 living in Incheon’s Gyeyang-gu constituency. At the 95% confidence level, the sampling error is ±4.4%p.

Among the Gyeyang-gu constituencies, in Gyesan 1, 2, and 3 dongs, People’s Strength candidate Yoon Hyung-sun took 49.4%, leading the Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung (42.6%) within the margin of error. On the other hand, in Gyesan 4-dong and Gyeyang 1, 2, and 3 buildings, Candidate Jae-myung Lee recorded 48.8%, which was higher within the margin of error than Candidate Hyung-sun Yoon (45.5%).
In terms of gender support, there was a clear difference between men and women. In the case of men, the approval rating of People’s Strength candidate Yoon Hyung-seon was 52.3%, which was higher than the Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung’s approval rating of 42.6%, outside the margin of error. As for women, Candidate Jae-myung Lee (50.5%) outperformed Candidate Hyung-sun Yoon (41.5%) outside the margin of error.
Support by age group also differed relatively clearly. In their 20s (including 18 and 19 years old) and 40s, Democratic Party candidate Jae-myung Lee received 51.6% and 62.0%, respectively, of support, outpacing People’s Strength candidate Yoon Hyung-sun (35.6% and 33.9%, respectively) outside the margin of error. People’s Power Candidate Yoon Hyung-seon recorded 62.8% of the support among those in their 60s and over, far ahead of Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung (33.0%).
In the 30s and 50s, it was found that the two candidates competed within the margin of error. In the case of those in their thirties, Candidate Jae-myung Lee recorded 50.3% of the support, and was ahead of Candidate Hyung-sun Yoon (45.0%) within the margin of error.
