Norman Reedus announces it: a sequel to Death Stranding is in the works! But you will have to be patient.

Death Stranding is a game like no other, a video game UFO, some will say, as the experience offered is so diferent from what conventional games have to offer. Some loved it, others hated it. One thing is certain: Death Stranding left no one indifferent. And a sequel is in the works.

Norman Reedus announces it: a sequel to Death Stranding is in the works!

If you suspected that a sequel to Death Stranding was in the works, then you’ve been right. Lead actor Norman Reedus told Leo in an interview that work on a second game had “just started”. The actor of The Walking Dead obviously did not deliver any details on this obviously highly anticipated project. Anyway, it’s a safe bet that this second opus will not see the light of day for a long, very long time. Norman Reedus said it took “two or three years” just to complete all of the motion capture for the first game, and you shouldn’t expect things to go any faster this time around, given the timing. Hideo Kojima’s love for more or less long cutscenes.

But you’ll have to be patient

Our colleagues from Engadget contacted Kojima Productions for more information on the subject. Either way, it’s easy to see why the studio greenlighted a second Death Stranding game. The first opus had sold no less than 5 million copies in November 2019 and July 2021. And this figure dates from before the release of the Director’s Cut version. A sequel will certainly help the company achieve success, not to mention Kojima’s reputation for Konami.

Anyway, there is no doubt that this Death Stranding 2, whatever its official title, will be a very, very anticipated project. To be continued !
