Women’s table tennis Shin Yu-bin, wrist injury again… to have surgery this week

Shin Yu-bin, a promising female table tennis player, injured her wrist once more and ended up on the operating table.

Shin Yu-bin’s agency announced today (22nd), “Shin Yu-bin is going to have surgery to put a pin in her right wrist this week.”

Shin Yubin suffered a wrist fatigue fracture at the World Championships held in Houston, USA in November last year.

Since then, Shin Yubin, who has been concentrating on rehabilitation, made a comeback at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Feeder Series held in the United States earlier this month.

He has competed in two competitions, reaching the quarterfinals in Fremont, CA, and knocked out of the round of 16 in Westchester, New York.

According to the agency, Shin Yubin felt pain once more in the area of her wrist injury during the competition.

As a result of a detailed diagnosis following the competition, it was found that another stress fracture occurred in the right wrist bone.

The agency said, “As before, if you wait for the bones to attach naturally at the hospital, it will take more than 3 months to rehabilitate, but I heard that you can complete the rehabilitation in 6 weeks if you have a pin operation.” “I decided to have surgery,” he said.
