Al-Marsad newspaper: Hussain Al-Qahtani, the official spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology, revealed the wave of dust that is witnessing in some regions of the Kingdom, and the warnings of the Meteorological Center to citizens.
Hussain Al-Qahtani, during a telephone interview with the Saudi channel, said that the National Center indicated that the waves will be tomorrow and the day following tomorrow, “Sunday and Monday”, but advanced alerts began to appear in some regions of the Kingdom.
And he continued, we expect from this night that dusty winds will start, which will turn into a dust storm, and from tomorrow, the winds are expected to reach 55 km per hour, and turn into a dust storm in Riyadh and parts of the northern and Qassim regions, extending to the southern interior regions of the Kingdom. Especially Najran and the surrounding areas, and also the Makkah and Madinah regions are affected.
Regarding the citizens going out for a walk tomorrow, Al-Qahtani indicated that the National Center of Meteorology clearly warned that dust-inducing winds may disturb vision, and we also see high waves due to wind speed, and the Center warned of the storm that will be witnessed tomorrow in a number of regions in the Kingdom.
He explained, that the National Center did the delivery of information to citizens through the available means for that, and in fact we call on everyone to pay attention and fully abide by the instructions issued by the relevant competent authorities, whether the medical aspects, road security and border guards.
He continued, that the meteorological center uses the automatic early warning system, which consists of four specific colors to indicate the level of the situation, green for status monitoring, yellow for alert, orange for advanced alert, and red for warning.
