According to a British newspaper report, the British royal family is increasing its aid for refugees from Ukraine. Members of the royal family have taken in Ukrainians, the newspaper “Daily Express” reported on Saturday.
The paper did not write who it was. The royals would be “working behind the scenes on a number of projects and wanted to keep their input private.” A palace spokesman told the “Express”: “We support in various ways, but will not comment further.”
Palace has taken in refugees before
Around 150,000 people in the UK have offered to take in refugees from Ukraine. So far, around 53,800 Ukrainians have arrived in the country. Again and once more there is criticism that the difficult British visa system delays or prevents entry.

It wouldn’t be the first time the palace has taken in refugees. During the Second World War, the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina (1880-1962) and the Norwegian King Haakon VII (1872-1957) and his son Prince Olav (1903-1991) found refuge there, who had fled from the Nazis.
Donations to charities
Queen Elizabeth II (96), heir to the throne Prince Charles (73) and Queen’s grandson Prince William (39) have repeatedly pledged their support to Ukraine in the war once morest Russia and donated money to aid organizations.
