RS Berkane wins the final against Orlando Pirates

This Friday evening was the final of the CAF Cup, the equivalent of the Europa League on the African continent, between RS Berkane (Morocco) and the South African club Orlando Pirates. A match between two regulars of this kind of meeting since the South Africans had already reached the final in 2015 while the RSB had won the competition in 2020 and failed in the final in 2019. But this time, once more , the RSB has done the job and therefore offers itself a new continental title.

In a hotly contested game where there were few chances, the fate of this final was decided in the penalty shootout. And we had to wait for an error by the Orlando Pirates defense to see the Moroccan club take advantage of it for the first time in extra time. Youssef El Fahli gave his team the advantage from the penalty spot (1-0, 97th). And while we thought the game was over, the Pirates came back at the very end of the game thanks to the equalizer from Thembinkosi Lorch (117th). The two teams then went to a penalty shootout. And in this little game, it is the RS Berkane who wins the session (5-4) and therefore a new trophy.
