Prisoner for selling medicines stolen from hospitals

For incurring the crime of marketing medicines and medical supplies without any authorization from the country’s health authorities, officials from the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps arrested a person.

The capture was carried out in the El Roble sector, in San Félix, Simón Bolívar parish, Caroní municipality, Bolívar state.

Through a press release, officials from the Municipal Delegation identified the individual as Ramón Alexander Contreras Vargas, 31 years old.

The commissions got their hands on him through anonymous complaints and investigations, where it was indicated that Ramón was engaged in the clandestine sale of medicines and medical supplies.

Presumably the subject stole from the health centers of the entity and brought from the Republic of Colombia, the medicines to benefit economically illegally.

At the time of the arrest, 155 catheters, 140 macrodrivers, 42 VDRL tests, an insufflator, 14 tubes, two plaster bandages, 27 ampoules of dipyrone, 49 ampoules of diclofenac, 99 ampoules of dexamethasone, 89 ampoules of Betamethasone, 65 solutions and 68 ampoules of adrenaline.

The Cicpc will continue the investigations that allow the location and arrest of those who have stolen supplies from health centers, which harm the population. The case was submitted to the Second Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry of Bolívar state for criminal proceedings.
