The Huawei Mate Xs 2 features a 6.5-inch external OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2480 x 1176 pixels. There is a large 7.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset along with Adreno 660 GPU for graphics. The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 512GB UFS 3.1 storage expandable up to 256GB via an NM card. The phone runs HarmonyOS 2 out of the box.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 is equipped with a 4600 mAh battery (4,880 mAh in the combined version) with 66W fast charging. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 LE, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. There is a side fingerprint sensor for security and stereo speakers. It measures 156.5 x 75.5 (139.3 when opened) x 5.4-11.1 mm and weighs 255 grams.

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 has triple cameras on the back, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 and 2.5 cm macro aperture, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom , 30x digital zoom, and OIS. There is a 10.7MP final camera on the front, with an f/2.2 aperture.
