The Callisto Protocol. Remember that name, because we’re likely to hear regarding it especially in 2022: it’s an all-new sci-fi horror franchise, crafted by the man behind Dead Space. And that definitely deserves a lot of attention.

In space, no one will hear you scream

For the time being, The Callisto Protocol is discreet enough that his name is not yet engraved in the memories: the game was announced in 2020 with an impressive first trailer, but has hardly given any sign of life since. Several weeks ago, we were entitled to some motion capture photos in the studiosuggesting that yes, the title was going to be revealed concretely very soon… and that moment is coming.

It was Game Informer who granted itself a great exclusivity: the media was able to approach the title by going directly to the development studio, seeing gameplay that had never been revealed and collecting a lot of information to make the game the cover of its magazine.. For the moment, the latter has not yet been released, but we are already entitled to two unpublished images, which set the tone and here it is.

The creator of Dead Space on the spot

And The Callisto Protocol also catches the eye, it’s good because it does not come from just anywhere: its director is none other than Glen A. Schofield, the man behind the mythical Dead Space (which is currently offered un remakeBesides) and who was the head of Visceral Games. A damn respectful liability, especially when you know the influence of the series and all the aura it has.

Ici, the formula of Dead Space seems obvious: it embodies Jacob Lee, having to survive the prison of the second largest moon of Jupiter. Not traditional prisoners, no, but rather monstrous creatures – someone mentioned necromorphs? – who roam the corridors and contaminate their prey.

In short, an attractive cocktail, especially since we are talking regarding a big production from a huge studio – Striking Distance – recently set up and which must therefore prove itself: The Callisto Protocol is planned for this year on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Do not hesitate to take a look at the trailer at the beginning of the article.
