Game News PlayStation Plus: great news for trophy hunters

The PlayStation Plus – finally, the new one – is approaching and with it, a very large catalog of free access video games. In the heap, we will also find titles from the first PlayStation or the PlayStation Portable: imagine that these may have trophies.
Bring home the trophy
As you probably know, June 22 will mark the arrival of the new PlayStation Plus and its three subscription levels. The first will be the traditional PS Plus without any changes, the second will give access to more than 400 PS5 and PS4 games and the third, the PlayStation Plus Premium, has all that but also free trials of recent games… as well as a PS3, PSOne and PSP catalogue.
It is in particular the last two platforms that interest us today. On your console, the “classic” games will have a new interface, allowing you to save and even rewind the action if you like; they may also include… trophies.
It is not yet known whether this will apply to all PS1 and PSP games, but it will in any case Syphon Filtersoftware originally published in 1999 on the first PlayStation and whose developers have recently confirmed the existence of trophies. There will even be a Platinum to unlock.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if all the other “classic” games will benefit from this very nice little addition – we imagine that there is a little work to be done on the part of the studios – but the news has in any case something to enthuse supporters of virtual rewards, even push them to subscribe.
Classics games already announced
A few days ago, Sony has revealed some of the games that will be offered in the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog, and more specifically in the “classics” section. List which, let us specify, is not exhaustive and which should grow over the months.
Ape Escape | Japan Studio, PlayStation originelle
Everybody’s Golf | Japan Studio, PlayStation originelle
Kurushi | Japan Studio, PlayStation originelle
Jumping Flash | Japan Studio, PlayStation originelle
Syphon Filter | Bend Studio, PlayStation originelle
Super Stardust Portable | Housemarque, PSP
Mr. Driller | Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., PlayStation originelle
Tekken 2 | Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., PlayStation originelle
Worms World Party | Team 17, PlayStation originelle
Worms Armageddon | Team17, PlayStation originelle
So, these games are clearly likely to offer a trophy system too : we just have to wait for a confirmation or, at worst, to go and check for ourselves from next June.
