The Geneva land registry does not want to announce whether it has blocked the villa of the wife of a Russian oligarch. This means that it cannot be publicly checked whether the authority has complied with the Federal Council’s Ukraine sanctions. This is shown by a report in the “Handelzeitung”.
It’s regarding the luxurious villa “Belle Haven” in Cologny (GE). Alina Kabaeva, the lover of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is said to have stayed there several times. The property belongs to Elena Timchenko and her son Ivan. The woman has been on the federal sanctions list since April 13 because of her closeness to Putin. The consequences: You are no longer allowed to enter Switzerland. In addition, she is prohibited from selling and transferring the villa. The land registry office should actually enter this as a so-called land registry block.
Heavy commodity trader
Timchenko heads the Timchenko Foundation, which supports various charitable projects for children and families. This is exactly what will become her undoing. The accusation: She contributes money from her husband Gennady Timchenko – he plays ice hockey with Putin from time to time – to the foundation. The husband, who is a very wealthy commodity trader, is one of the central figures who are financing Putin’s war.
