Taylor Swift might not hide his happiness following receiving an honorary doctorate of fine arts from New York University (NYU), Wednesday (18/5/2022). He said he got the title thanks to the song twenty two or 22 which was released ten years ago.
“I’m 90 percent sure, the reason I’m here is because the song I wrote is called 22,” Taylor said.
The singer, who won an 11-time Grammy award, said there was no proper advice regarding life choices.
“The bad news depends on you, so does the good news. Learn to live side by side with horror,” said Swift.
According to Taylor Swift everything he has achieved now cannot be separated from the difficulties he received as a singer. He considers, there are times when humans see difficulties as something wise.
“Bad things always happen to us. We will be fine and learn from them (bad things) also become (we) stronger. As long as we are lucky and know how to breathe. We will inhale and exhale properly. I am a doctor now, so know how to breathe properly,” Swift said.
In a purple gown, Taylor thanked NYU for awarding her an honorary doctorate.
“I’m grateful that NYU awarded me this degree technically at least in paper, a doctorate,” Swift said.
Taylor Swift’s graduation ceremony itself attracted public attention. There were even some who tried to buy tickets for the ceremony.
Previously, NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music also held courses related to Taylor Swift.
This course is taught by Rolling Stone writer Brittany Spanos Taylor Swift as a pop star and her public charm.
