North Korea may conduct a nuclear test during Biden’s Asian tour

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said US intelligence indicated that North Korea may conduct a nuclear or missile test or both before, during or following US President Joe Biden’s Asian tour this week, including South Korea and Japan.

“We are preparing for all possible contingencies, including the possibility of such a provocation occurring while we are in Korea or Japan,” he added.
And the White House announced, earlier today, that Biden will not visit the Korean Demilitarized Zone during his Asian tour this week. Spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre told reporters that such a visit was no longer in the plan. Until recently last week, Biden was considering a visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Biden is on the Asian tour from May 20 to 24.
