RFC Liège makes short work of Dessel

RFC Liège received Dessel Sport this Wednesday evening (8 p.m.) during the fourth day of the National 1 Playoffs.

After its nice success on the lawn of Dessel (2-4) last Saturday, RFC Liège will be keen to confirm and continue once morest the same opponent, but in Rocourt in front of its twelfth man. The people of Liège will have to show the same ingredients as last weekend, namely control, character and a little success.

For this meeting, Gaëtan Englebert might count on all of his players. The T1 of number 4 made a single change in his team with the return of Reuten in the eleven of Liège. Benny Lunenburg made five changes to Dessel.

The observation round will not last long in this part since Lallemand will quickly open the scoring for the locals (7th), 1-0. After a header from Bustin captured by Geladé (10th), Lallemand, very well served by Moulhi, will go for his double and make the break for Liège (12th), 2-0. Bruggeman will then drive the point home by planting a third goal (14th), 3-0. Mouhli will not be far from deceiving the goalkeeper of Dessel with a shot from distance which will pass right next to it (19th). Groggy, the visitors will not be able to catch their breath and will be content to stay behind in order to limit the damage. However, Perbet will appear at the near post to also score his goal (39th), 4-0. The score will not move at the break.

In the second half, Englebert will make five substitutions before the hour mark in order to preserve five key plays ahead of Sunday’s crucial game once morest Dender. Not satisfied for all that, the Sang et Marine will continue to play forward, but Mouchamps too imprecise (69th) and D’Ostilio (78th) will not be able to plant the fifth rose from Liège. Number 4 confirms its good form with great success (4-0) and continues before the shock of next weekend.

In the standings, RFC Liège remains second to a unit of Dender who won in Knokke (0-2) this Wednesday evening.
