The US space agency (NASA) said yesterday that its InSight lander is expected to complete its mission on the surface of Mars by the end of the year.
NASA said that NASA’s InSight Mars Exploration Probe is gradually losing power and is expected to finish its science operations later this summer, adding that the Insight team expects the probe to be “off work” by December.
The space agency also reported that the spacecraft’s solar panels are producing increasingly less energy as they continue to be exposed to a buildup of dust.
