The Origin of Badarawuhi, the guardian of the dancing village who was expelled from the South Coast Kingdom : Okezone Travel

FOR For those of you who follow the journey of the KKN story in the Dancer Village, from the threads written by the Simple Man Twitter account, to novels, to being made on the big screen, a figure named Badarawuhi is certainly not a foreign thing.

The reason is, in the story of KKN in Penari Village, this figure is the main antagonist in the story, and his presence is always unexpected by the characters involved.

Reporting from the Twitter account @RatuNgondyek, Badarawuhi is told as a ghost or gentleman who guards the Dancer Village.

He is from the South Coast. It is said that he was expelled from the South Coast Kingdom because he possessed one of the dancers, namely Ratna Narekh in the east of Java Island.

Everyday Ratna Narekh is the leader of a village and a student of a knight during the time of the King of the Kediri Kingdom, Prabu Airlangga.

He along with four other students fled when the teacher was conquered by Mpu Barada. The four brothers and sisters fled to Bali, while Ratna Narekh, hiding in the eastern part of Java Island, began to build a settlement.

There is a courtyard where Ratna Narekh and the villagers worship the gods and ancestral spirits with dances in the newly built village. Ratna Narekh deliberately did not show his strength to avoid being chased by Mpu Barada.

His life is now only used to study the lontar he brought when he fled. Lontar was special because it brought him to learn various sciences of kanuragan and kanujiwan to conquer the leader of the demons in the forests of Java Island. Ratna Narekh also received the gift of eternal youth because of the lontar.

His life began to be disturbed when he traveled to Wonokromo, which at that time had a masher as a male leader. Seeing the beauty of Ratna Narekh, the Wonokromo leader was interested and offered her to stay the night. Without suspecting it, Ratna Narekh accepted it.

But at night when he fell asleep, the village leader and two of his men tried to do something indecent. Unfortunately, the three of them then bounced and died because of Ratna Narekh’s supernatural powers.

Ratna Narekh was also named as the successor following the death of the leader of Wonokromo. The village he leads now is said to be a magical gateway to the north coast of Java.

There is a pool of water or spring which is believed to be a stopover for the Queen of the South Coast, the leader of the southern kingdom who has good relations with the northern kingdom of the Java Sea.

It is said that in the village occupied by Ratna Narekh, residents are prohibited from dancing to the strains of gamelan. Ratna Narekh, who was filled with pride, violated these customary taboos and challenged all the inhabitants of the Daha forest, including the inhabitants of Sendang.
