The Covid Safe Ticket is back in political discussions before the Consultation Committee

The days when entering a restaurant or a cinema rhymed with presenting your Covid Safe Ticket already seem distant. The health pass has not been used in Belgium for a little over two months. The epidemiological figures evolving in the right direction, it should not make its return soon. However, it would indeed be on the table of the current discussions with a view to preparing the Consultation committee this Friday .

According to our Evening colleagues , the Minister of Health, Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit), would have taken advantage of the meetings with the various ministers of the country to discuss the extension of the legal framework allowing the establishment of a health pass. Indeed, the latter expires on June 30. The Flemish socialist would like us to be able to postpone this deadline in order to be ready in the event of an epidemic rebound. The Minister of Health would thus like to be able to have the necessary weapons to face a new wave of coronavirus.

Even if this does not mean that we would have recourse to the CST soon, the possibility of seeing the legal framework allowing its implementation extended does not please everyone within the executive. As Le Soir affirms, ecologists would be particularly reluctant.
