Geneva cantonal police
The Geneva cantonal police, or at least some of its agents, are in turmoil. A case of undeclared work and illegal stays in a garage in Satigny might be coupled with a component capable of revealing compromising links between agents and the boss of the workshop. According to RTSthe Geneva public prosecutor would have received a denunciation evoking suspicious relations between police officers and the mechanic in question.
A dozen police officers, including several commissioners, would be concerned. They would have received gifts, services or garage benefits. All-expenses-paid vacations or free car rentals are mentioned. The Attorney General confirmed the holding of “preliminary checks” not targeting any particular police officer. This case is reminiscent of the one that was conducted on links between agents and the world of prostitution. It had resulted in a few convictions, disciplinary sanctions and the drafting of a new code of ethics.
