As a continuation of the talks, Amir Abdullahian will meet his Saudi counterpart soon

A member of the Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Committee announces a meeting soon between Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian and his Saudi counterpart in Baghdad, to discuss bilateral issues and the opening of embassies between the two countries.

A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Jawad Karimi Qudoussi, announced that Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, will meet with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, soon.

Qudoussi explained that “preliminary agreements have been reached between Tehran and Riyadh.”

He said: “In this meeting, bilateral issues and the opening of embassies will be discussed, as well as regional issues, especially the Yemeni crisis.”

On April 23, the Iranian “Noor News” agency revealed that Mr Fifth round of talks between the senior representatives of Iran and Saudi Arabia in Iraq, stressing that “the officials of the two countries have drawn a clearer vision for the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.”

After its convening, the spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council, Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini, praised the round of dialogue, describing it as “Very positive and constructive.”He added, “If important countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey enjoy good relations, West Asia can turn into a bloc of power.”

Mashenki said that Iran “would like to take the initiative to strengthen relations between the countries of the region and play a wise role, without looking back,” appreciating the efforts of “the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq to provide the appropriate ground for the start of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia.”
