Story, Bogaerts dan HR y Boston se impone

BOSTON — Trevor Story homered to tie the game in the seventh inning and Xander Bogaerts hit a two-run shot in the eighth to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 6-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Monday night.

Houston starter Jake Odorizzi was stretchered out in the fifth inning with a leg injury in the first meeting between the two teams since the Astros won the AL Championship Series last year.

JD Martinez and Kike Hernandez had two hits apiece for Boston, which has won three of four.

The win went to Matt Strahm (2-1), who struck out three and allowed one hit. Hansel Robles earned his second save.

The loss was the record of Dominican Héctor Neris (1-2), who allowed three runs on three hits and gave a walk, in addition to striking out an opponent in the eighth.

For the Astros, the Venezuelan José Altuve 4-1 with an RBI. Cubans Yordan Álvarez 3-0; Yulieski Gurriel 3-0 with an RBI. Honduran Mauricio Dubón 3-1.

For the Red Sox, Puerto Ricans Kiké Hernández 4-2 with two runs scored; Christian Vazquez 3-0. Dominican Franchy Cordero 4-1 with a run scored.
