Doha: Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed Al Thani’s European tour begins The tour, which includes visits to various European countries and participation in the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, kicked off on Sunday night.
The emir’s first voyage was from Doha to Slovenia. On Monday, the emir arrived in the capital, Ljubljana, to meet with President Borut Pahor. During the meeting at the Presidential Palace, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and Slovenia and the strengthening of cooperation in various fields, including politics, economy, trade, energy and tourism.
The two sides analyzed the latest developments in the region and international arenas, including Europe and the Middle East.
Welcoming the Emir’s visit, Slovenian President Borut Pahor said he hoped the visit would enhance cooperation between Qatar and Slovenia. He said the aim was to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the energy and investment sectors. He will also visit Spain, Germany, Britain and France. A high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, is accompanying the emir on a European tour.
Islamic Center inaugurated
Doha: Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and President Borut Pahor inaugurated an Islamic center in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, built with the financial support of Qatar. Mufti Nefsat Borich, President of the Islamic Sheikh Dom, received the Emir. The leaders of the two countries inaugurated the ‘Friendship Seat’ set up in the garden of the Center. The center is home to a church, a cultural center, a library and educational institutions. After the inauguration, the Emir visited the Islamic Center.
