AMLO must talk with drug traffickers to “get him down”: bishop of Chilpancingo-Chilapa

Jose de Jesus Gonzalez Hernandezbishop of the diocese Chilpancingo-Chilapamade a call to the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador so that you can talk to criminal groups with the aim of reducing violence in the country.

The foregoing was detailed by the bishop in Chilapa at the end of a mass, who asserted that the least he expects from López Obrador is that they tell the members of said criminal groups to “lower” the deaths.

A President of the Republic has all the power and yes, the criminals also have power, as soon as they talk and tell them: ‘come down, come down, let there be no more deaths,’” he said.

“At least what I would expect from the president is that he tell them: ‘Put him down, let there be no more deaths,'” the bishop pointed out to local media.

These statements are given following the statements of the head of the federal executivewho pointed out that the lives of criminals must be protected, which he has reaffirmed in at least three morning conferences following recordings of civilians, alleged members of organized crime, persecuting elements of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) in Nueva Italia, in the state of Michoacán, last week.

“I was struck by the fact that supposedly progressive intellectuals or professionals questioned me (…) how are we going to want someone to lose their life? How are we going to be in favor of the heel law, that ‘he who kills iron dies’, and the ‘tooth for a tooth’, and the ‘eye for an eye’? If that’s what we’re going to, we’re going to stay chimuelos or all one-eyed”, stressed López Obrador.

“’It was a slip by the president’, according to a driver, who surely I was going to clarify, well no, notice that I think so, and we are going to analyze it: the soldiers acted very well (in persecution in Michoacán). There is that very authoritarian mentality ”, he abounded at the time.
