The price of the euro fell today in Egypt, on the morning of Monday, May 16, 2022, on the screens of the Central Bank and government and private banks.
Globally, the euro started the week near its lowest level since early 2017, affected by the rise in the dollar and the damage to the European economy from the conflict in Ukraine.
The euro reached $1.0398 on Monday morning, just over from Thursday’s $1.0354, its lowest since early 2017.
The price of the euro today in Egypt
The average price of the European euro decreased, according to the Central Bank of Egypt website, to regarding 19 pounds for purchase, and 19.09 pounds for sale, compared to 19.04 pounds for purchase, and 19.14 pounds for sale.
The price of the euro in the National Bank of Egypt fell to the level of 18.90 pounds for purchase, and 19.08 pounds for sale, compared to 18.98 pounds for purchase, and 19.31 pounds for sale, yesterday.
At Banque Misr, the same trading prices were repeated in the National Bank.
At the Commercial International Bank, the price of the euro fell, to regarding 18.91 pounds for purchase, and 19.10 pounds for sale, compared to 19.06 pounds for purchase, and 19.33 pounds for sale, yesterday.
The foreign exchange market in Egypt is awaiting the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt, scheduled for next Thursday, May 19, to determine interest rates on the pound.
The price of the dollar and the pound sterling today in Egypt
The average price of the dollar in Egypt decreased, according to the data of the Central Bank of Egypt website this morning, to 18.25 pounds for purchase, and 18.33 pounds for sale, compared to 18.27 pounds for purchase, and 18.36 pounds for sale, yesterday.
In the National Bank of Egypt, the largest government bank, the price of the dollar remained, dropping to 18.26 pounds for purchase, and 18.32 pounds for sale, compared to 18.28 pounds for purchase, and 18.34 pounds for sale, yesterday.
At Banque Misr, the same rates were repeated by the National Bank.
The price of the dollar at the Commercial International Bank also decreased to regarding 18.27 pounds for purchase, and 18.34 pounds for sale, compared to 18.29 pounds for purchase, and 18.36 pounds for sale, yesterday.
While the average price of the pound sterling rose in the banking market, according to the Central Bank of Egypt, to regarding 22.37 pounds for purchase, and 22.49 pounds for sale, compared to 22.31 pounds for purchase, and 22.43 pounds for sale, yesterday.
The prices of the riyal, dirham and dinar today in Egypt
The average price of the Saudi riyal decreased, according to the Central Bank of Egypt website, to regarding 4.86 pounds for purchase, and 4.88 pounds for sale, compared to 4.87 pounds for purchase, and 4.89 pounds for sale.
In the National Bank of Egypt, the price of the Saudi riyal fell, to regarding 4.86 pounds for purchase, and 4.88 pounds for sale.
At Banque Misr, the same rates were repeated by the National Bank.
The price of the Saudi riyal at the Commercial International Bank fell to regarding 4.86 pounds for purchase, and 4.88 pounds for sale.
The average price of the UAE dirham in the banking market also fell, according to the Central Bank of Egypt, to regarding 4.96 pounds for purchase, and 4.99 pounds for sale.
Also, the price of the Kuwaiti dinar decreased, according to the Central Bank of Egypt website, to regarding 59.36 pounds for purchase, and 59.80 pounds for sale.
