Kaya, (AIB)-The managerial staff of the musical artist, Habibou Sawadogo hosted, on May 14, 2022 in Kaya, a press conference to present his 8e album and unveil the program of activities within the framework of his 20-year musical career.

After the presentation of his eighth album to the press, on May 5 in Ouagadougou, the musician artist, Habibou Sawadogo unveiled, on Saturday May 14, 2022 in Kaya, this time to the press of the Center-North region .

She took the opportunity to also unveil the program of her commemorative activities for her 20-year career.

A press conference was used to present the 8th album of his career entitled “Barka” (thank you, in moré language).

Barka is dedicated, according to the artist, to all his fans to show his gratitude for their multiple and multifaceted support which has conditioned his success for 20 years.

This latest album of 12 tracks including 1 remix, deals with themes of peace, love, understanding, death and social cohesion.

Barka wants to be an integrator with a diversity of rhythms including, among others, warba, wiré, wedbindé, manding, gulmu and reggae.

It calls on all populations for solidarity to defeat the terrorist hydra for peace.

Revealed to the general public in 2002 with the kundé prize for the best traditional song, Habibou Sawadogo since then has participated in national and international events marked by numerous prizes including 8 kundé trophies.

These moments of glory constitute for the artist a reason for satisfaction to give thanks to God and to show his gratitude to his fans and to the populations in general through a host of activities.

According to the provincial director in charge of Culture of Sanmatenga, Ousseni Ouédraogo, member of the organizing committee for the artist’s 20-year career, the commemorative activities will run from May 21 to June 5, 2022.

According to him, on the program, it is planned are, among other things, courtesy visits to customary and religious authorities and to precursor artists, days of prayers for the return of peace to Faso, a gala evening for the collection of fund for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Among the activities to be carried out, there are also musical entertainment, sports activities and donations for the benefit of IDPs and residents of the Kaya Remand and Correctional Center (MACK). Activities within the framework of porcelain weddings are placed under the patronage and blessing of His Majesty the Naaba Sigri, Dima de Boussouma.

“The apotheosis of this event will be marked by a great closing concert, on June 5, 2022, at the Place du 11-Décembre de Kaya. Other activities will be extended to the two other provinces of the region, namely Bam and Namentanga”, continued Mr. Ouédraogo.
