Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, told Masrawy that the death of a patient as a result of a fire that broke out in his room at the Nasser Institute has been referred to the Public Prosecution, which is in charge of investigations.

A fire that broke out in one of the intensive care rooms at the Nasser Institute caused the patient, “Khairallah A. A.”, 48, with separate burns to the body, which led to his death.

According to official correspondence with the hospital, the fire that broke out in one of the intensive care rooms at the institute on the evening of Friday, May 6, was caused by a short circuit in the power cable of the electrical syringe next to the patient, who entered the hospital one day before the fire.

The fire, which erupted in the bed in which the patient resides, caused burns to various parts of his body, before the shift officials from the Nursing Authority, Industrial Security and the Medical Electricity Department rushed to control the situation, by disconnecting the cable from the electrical department, but it was only hours until the patient died of his injuries. with his injuries.
