A teenager was seriously injured in Berlin-Schoeneberg while surfing the S-Bahn.
The 16-year-old rode with at least four other people on the roof of a train on S-Bahn line 1 on Friday evening, as the federal police announced on Saturday. At the entrance to the Julius-Leber-Brücke station, the young people jumped off the roof of the S-Bahn. The teenager fell between two wagons and was run over by the train.
The young man was seriously injured in the legs and head, said Christina Weigandt, spokeswoman for the Berlin Federal Police Directorate, the rbb. He was treated by an ambulance and then taken to a hospital. His condition was still “critical,” said a spokeswoman for the federal police on Sunday followingnoon.
The police are now investigating and interviewing witnesses. Among other things, it is still unclear who the four other people who were riding on the roof of the S-Bahn were. It is also unclear whether there were even more than four.
