Kuwait’s Kyokushin Karate player Suleiman Al-Zaidan in the junior category achieved third place in the Asian Championship “kwunion” in the under 55 kilograms category, hosted by the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, with the participation of 170 players.
The head of the team’s delegation, Hassan Al-Kandari, told Kuwait News Agency that the tournament witnessed strong competitions from all participants, and intensive training and preparations contributed to achieving this achievement.
Al-Kandari added that the team will continue its competitions tomorrow, Sunday, in the men’s and women’s categories, hoping that our players will achieve the desired results to raise the name and flag of Kuwait high in this continental event.
He explained that the team will participate in the tournament with five players, in addition to Suleiman Al-Zaidan, each of Hamza Behbehani in the under 85 kilograms category, Tariq Hammoud in the under 75 kilograms and Dari Al Shammari in the under 65 kilograms, while Zainab Al Kazmi participates in the under 55 kilograms category.
The teams of Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Japan and Kazakhstan “host country” are participating in the tournament, which started today and will last for two days.
