Prime Minister Najib Mikati left Beirut this followingnoon for the United Arab Emirates to offer his condolences on the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Lebanese delegation to the UAE includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdullah Bouhabib and Lebanese Ambassador to the UAE Fouad Dandan.
Condolences: Following the announcement of the death of the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, yesterday, condolences to the UAE, its leaders and its people from the politicians.
shepherd: The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, also offered his “deepest condolences on the death of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was a friend of the State of Lebanon and the Lebanese people. Jumblatt: Walid Jumblatt, head of the Progressive Socialist Party, telegraphed to the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the death of the President of the State, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The text of the telegram stated: “With more sadness, we received the news of the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, who laid the foundations of the modern, developed state and completed with merit and perseverance the march of the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, and left great imprints in the march of progress and renaissance. On behalf of the Progressive Socialist Party, I extend my sincere condolences to you and the brotherly Emirati people, asking God to bless him with his vast mercy, wishing the UAE continued stability and prosperity.
Jumblatt also cabled the Vice President and Prime Minister of the State, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for the same purpose.
Hamada: The resigned MP, Marwan Hamadeh, said in a statement, “The absence of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, saddened us.” Al-Raqiah, the son of the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, who, in the midst of the war in Lebanon, shouted, “Do not leave Lebanon, save this dear country.”
Hamada concluded, condoling the UAE and “its brotherly people on the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa, who carried Lebanon in his heart, and the loyal people in our country do not forget what the late and the rulers of the Emirates offered to our country. Mercy is for his pure soul.”
Oseiran: A member of the “Development and Liberation” bloc, MP Ali Oseiran, extended his condolences to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates, on the passing of the President of the State, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His country, which stood by the Lebanese people in their ordeal and the difficulties of their lives…may God have mercy on Sheikh Khalifa and grant him a spacious place in his paradise.”
blond: Pierre Al-Ashkar, President of the Federation of Tourist Syndicates, mourned in a statement the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
On his behalf and on behalf of the tourism sector in Lebanon, he offered his sincere condolences to the sisterly UAE leadership and people, stressing that “with the departure of the late, the Arab world lost a distinguished and loyal personality, and we lost a brother and friend who loves Lebanon and its people.”
