The Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon (TBET) will bring together, on May 28 and 29, amateur and professional triathletes of 12 nationalities in Tamuda Bay (M’diq-Fnideq) for an unprecedented ecological triathlon in Morocco. More than 600 participants are expected at the start of this edition, the organizers said in a press release.
On the program, participants will compete in two races for adults and one for children aged 5 to 15, the “Family & Kids”. Saturday, May 28, the triathlon will be held in its Olympic distance, i.e. 1,500m swimming, 40km cycling and 10km running. On the same day, the children will compete in 25m swimming, 4km cycling and 1.5km running. On Sunday, the Sprint distance will decide between the triathletes over 750m of swimming, 20km of cycling and 5km of running.
The Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon is the first ecological triathlon in Morocco with the aim of respecting the environment and raising awareness of the environmental impact of each. With 10 ecological and sustainable measures, the organizers place the race as an eco-responsible event concerned with the socio-economic development of the region. Friday, the cleaning of the beach of M’diq is also planned in the program of the event.
The Triathlon will also offer an exhibition village accessible to all from Friday to Sunday. More than 40 volunteers will organize this event, while 3,000 overnight stays are planned in the region for the 600 participants and 2,000 accompanying persons.
