With a human chain, they block the entrance to EPM of the mayor in charge of Medellín

The high commissioner for Peace, appointed by the head of state as mayor in charge of the capital of Antioquia, Juan Camilo Restrepo, arrived today at the Medellín Public Enterprises (EPM) building to carry out his duties. However, he was unable to enter through the main gate due to the blockade carried out by citizens and members of the Independent movement.

Restrepo was forced to enter through an alternate door, because between whistles and harangues a group of people blocked the main entrance to the building. Given the situation, the president and his security scheme withdrew from the place.

In this regard, the former Secretary of Social Inclusion and Secretary General of the Independent Movement, commented: “The puppet and illegitimate mayor in charge of Medellín Juan Camilo Restrepo might not enter EPM through the main door, the citizens did not allow it. He had to enter through the door through which the corrupt contractors left, through the back door.”

This occurs following the fact that the now suspended mayor of Medellín would have summoned citizens and officials to disobey the orders of the new manager.

The official who arrived this Thursday, May 12, at the administrative center assured that he was well received. However, this situation was foreseen following the message sent by Quintero, for which Restrepo pointed out: “I am not a decorative figure, I come to govern,” he commented in dialogue with Blue Radio.

Meanwhile, the former secretary of government also applauded this action, referring to the Commissioner for Peace as a “usurper” of the mayor’s office.

Meanwhile, Daniel Quintero’s wife, Diana Osorio, spoke through her Twitter account: “The person in charge might not enter EPM: his main assignment.”

Threats to a deputy

After learning of the decision of the Attorney General’s Office ordering the suspension of the mayor of Medellín, two officials -among them the mayor in charge Juan Camilo Restrepo and the deputy of Antioquia for the Dignidad Colombia party Luis Peláez – have denounced threats once morest him.

In a conversation with SEMANA, the opposition deputy assured that this Thursday, May 12, at night, he received a text message on his Instagram account in which he was treated as a “toad, we are going to shut you up.” According to him, everything is related to the complaint that he filed with the Attorney General’s Office for the presumed political participation of the suspended mayor today.

“The threat is obviously due to the disciplinary complaint once morest Daniel Quintero,” Peláez stressed, who highlighted that more than 2 years ago he had not received an ultimatumwhen they threatened him for denouncing a case of alleged land theft in the government of former Antioquia Governor Luis Pérez.

On that occasion, he was the victim of an attack in which his truck was shot nine times on a road in the municipality of Yolombó, Antioquia. After the attack, he dedicated himself to exercising political control over the current administration, because, as he stated, “many of those who stole Antioquia at the time work in the Quintero mayor’s office.”

Peláez was summoned by the Attorney General’s Office for an extension and rectification of the complaint. “That’s why they want to kill me (…) because I’m going to expand the complaint with all the expenses they had in all that paraphernalia they made in the Alpujarra,” he said.

The case is already in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office and is under confidential reserve to trace the IP in search of the responsible persons.

Meanwhile, Peláez also referred to the controversial political strategist, Amauri Venegas Chamorro. “It must be clear that there is a dark character next to Quintero who is Chamorroin charge of making black and making false profiles (…) a strategy to silence enemies and those who speak ill, “he commented.

Although the official has protection measures, in the midst of tears he makes a single request: “I am from Puerto Berrío, Antioquia, I lived and have lived all my life in the face of violence, the only thing I ask is that they don’t kill me, or do anything to my family.”
