PARIS, May 12 (Benin News/EP) –
Sony unveiled its new WH-1000XM5 Wireless Headband Headphoneswith a new design and improvements in noise cancellation technology that make it 50% more efficient than the previous model, and in sound quality thanks to a new speaker.
In recent years, Sony’s WH-1000XM wireless headphones have stood out for the quality of their noise-canceling technology. With the new WH-1000XM5 model, the company claims to have improved it, to the point of claiming that it is “the biggest evolution” it has made to its headphones.
For the WH-1000XM4 model, Noise cancellation is improved by 50%.with the reduction of mid and high frequencies, such as clicks and vocals. The company explains that to achieve this, it combined two processors, V1 and QN1, with the new 30mm driver.
Specifically, the V1 processor monitors the information collected by the external microphones, while the QN1 processes all this information and inverts the waveform to achieve noise cancellation.
This device has the following features with eight microphones distributed in the headphones that monitor ambient sound: three external microphones and one internal microphone on each side. Internal microphones are used to verify that the cancellation is correct.
Another new feature is sound enhancement. For this purpose, Sony has integrated a new 30 mm speaker in the WH-1000XM5, which reproduces bass sounds more faithfully. It also supports HiRes – also wirelessly – 360 Reality Audio and DSEE Extreme, a technology that upscales digital music files in real time.
The WH-1000XM5 features a new design compared to previous models. The company has used a softer synthetic leather on these headphones, which makes them more comfortable to wear. The headband is thinner and also has a softer headband for better comfort. does not retain clips for adjustment with preset positions.
This redesign means the WH-1000XM5 headphones can’t be folded, and as for the accompanying case, the way it’s stored has been changed to prevent accidental drops, and can even be flattened to reduce its bulk. .
The company claims that battery life has also been improved by around two hours compared to the previous model. More precisely, The WH-1000XM5 noise canceling headphones offer up to 30 hours of battery life, a range that increases to 40 hours if this function is deactivated.
The headset also features Voice Pickup technology, which uses artificial intelligence and microphones to isolate the user’s voice and minimize ambient noise, including wind noise, during calls.
It also includes other smart features, like warning volume levels to prevent damage, and adaptive sound, which automatically calibrates the sound each time the user puts the headset on. And Speak to chat, which detects when the user starts speaking during a call to turn on noise cancellation and mute music.
WH-1000XM5 are compatible with digital assistants and their activation commands, but also have a touch panel for manual control. Sony has indicated that they will be available in the market from end of May in black and silver, the starting price of which is 50 euros. 450 euros.
