“This is a completely idiotic provocation”: Alikhanov met with the Russian ambassador to Poland, who was doused with syrup

Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov on Thursday, May 12, met with the Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreev. During the meeting, the incident of May 9, when people were doused with syrup in Warsaw, was discussed. As writes “Cascade”the head of the region called it “an idiotic provocation.”

“Despite all attempts to create a farce, a theater out of this situation, Sergey Vadimovich destroyed this whole plan with this calmness and composure. They (the participants in the provocation) achieved exactly the opposite effect. All normal people around the world are on the other side of this particular situation and understand what was arranged. This is a completely idiotic provocation, unacceptable, openly encouraged by the Polish authorities. No law enforcement structures intervened, did not try to interfere with this. We believe that this is disgusting, boorish behavior,” Alikhanov added.

The head of the region believes that the Polish side should have apologized for what happened and should not allow such situations to happen once more. At the same time, Alikhanov noted that “we have no illusions on this score.”

The ambassador himself, answering a question regarding his well-being, said that everything was “normal”. “As for the military memorial work, here we are in the same ranks. We feel your support and always, as far as possible, would like to support the people of Kaliningrad,” Andreev added.
